The origin of the name April is not unambiguous clarified. It could be derived from aperire (to open), so the blooming, but on the other hand it is feasible, the origin could be in the name of Aphrodite. April was consecrated by the Romans to Venus, which was later equated to Aphrodite. The attribute of Aphrodite is the dove.
